All PhatShaft turbochargers are designed as a drop-in replacement for the Dodge 5.9L Cummins stock turbo. Industrial Injection's unique ability to test and perfect the PhatShaft sets the PhatShaft apart from the rest of the industry. Not only do we have the ability to create the PhatShaft chargers in house, we have the unique ability to fuel our own test vehicles with our state of the art fuel injection shop.
The PhatShaft 62 is the perfect upgrade turbo for towing. The PhatShaft 62 can be purchased with a 12 or 14 turbine housing matched with a 65mm turbine. We suggest a 12 cm turbine housing if the truck has moderate fueling upgrades such as 300hp injectors and a camplate. If the truck has heavier fueling upgrades such as 370hp injectors, aggressive camplate and governor springs then you will be better suited with 14cm housing. The benefit of the 14cm exhaust housing is lower Exhaust Gas Temperatures but it will be slower to spool in daily driving situations. The wategate is set at 40psi to prevent head gasket failure. The PhatShaft 62 compliments moderate fueling upgrades and can support 300 - 550hp. The 62 is a drop in replacement however, an HX40 downpipe is required for installation.
The downpipe's name refers to the size of the flange on the exhaust side of the turbo called HX40. These downpipes and clamp sets mount right up to your new aftermarket turbo and will match your aftermarket exhaust system. Created in 4" pipe to offer the maxuim amount of performance gain and increased airflow. Most kits can be installed in 30 minutes to 1 hour.
